Finding Relief: My Journey with Chromatic Wellness
One of the reasons I agreed to become part of Chromatic Wellness is my personal association with pain. Yes, that is my spine, my two replaced hips, and in this photo, one replaced shoulder. Now, both shoulders are replaced, as well as my right knee. My goal is to keep my last remaining joint, my left knee, intact. So, what is my knowledge of pain? It’s firsthand experience; pain is my constant companion.
Getting your joints replaced is sometimes a last resort, and frankly, replaced joints will never be the same as your original, regardless of how talented your orthopedic surgeon is.
When approached about Low-Level Light Therapy, I was skeptical. I’ve been through it all—from physical therapy to injections, to having my spine stretched. As you can imagine, I am not easily swayed by talk of the next great therapy. However, given that I was approached by a doctor and a friend of mine to be a part of Chromatic Wellness, I was willing to give it a go.
My first challenge was my last remaining joint, my knee. Initially, the treatment with one of their devices didn’t seem to have any effect. But I kept at it, and after about six sessions, I noticed the inflammation had decreased, and my knee felt more flexible.
I took off my knee brace and started walking and hiking near my home in Nevada City. Now, I am able to hike several days a week with much less pain. Continuing treatments have kept me active and feeling much better about the prospect of not having to replace my last joint.
Since then, I have become very intrigued by the various devices developed worldwide. I’ve had our team acquire two different devices that offer many different frequencies, color spectrums, levels of power, and penetration. These attributes are critical because this is not a one-size-fits-all situation. Everyone is different and has specific reactions to these various specifications. The depth the light penetrates, the amount of soft tissue, and inflammation all play a part in the success of your therapy.
That’s probably enough for now, but come back as I will continue to write and post about how we can help reduce your pain.
